The Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) is being observed during the month of September by virtue of Proclamation No. 247, series of 2002 issued by Malacañang which aims to promote national awareness and inculcate the significance of policy research in achieving socio-economic development. This theme for this year’s celebration is “Navigating the New Globalization: Local Actions for Global Challenges”.

The Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (CRHRDC) recognizes the importance of translating research to policy. This is emphasized during the conduct of health and health-related activities of the Consortium (generation of health research proposals for funding, capacity building activities, conduct of forum and seminars, and dissemination of research output) where most of the time, the policymakers and stakeholders are invited and full participation is encouraged.

In celebration of the 17th DPRM, the Consortium is now challenged to highlight and implement the planned activities related to translating research findings/outputs to policies as part of its commitment to help address the region’s health concerns and issues.
