Health researchers trained on poster and podium presentation
BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium, through its Capacity Building Committee (CBC), in partnership with the Research Utilization Committee (RUC), conducted the Training on Podium and Poster Presentation on May 3, 2019 at the Secretary’s Cottage, Worcester Road, BGHMC Compound, Baguio City.
This training primarily aimed to enhance the researchers’ knowledge and skills in the formal conduct of poster and podium presentation. It also aimed to identify possible modifications to improve the presentations for poster and podium categories that the researchers are currently developing in anticipation of the upcoming 8th Regional Health Research Conference which is scheduled on May 18, 2019.
Dr. John Anthony A. Domantay (Co-Chair, CBC), the esteemed resource speaker, emphasized in his introduction that research studies must be disseminated and utilized accordingly for it to be considered “complete”. He also discussed substantially the key pointers in disseminating research outputs through podium and poster presentation.
In the afternoon, a workshop was conducted where the participants were able to conduct a mock podium presentation and critique a poster utilizing sample research studies. Through this workshop, participants were assisted with perspectives concerning presentations at conferences. They were also provided with handy guides in producing presentations that will help them communicate their research work as succinctly and professionally as possible.
Mr. Carlson Dave C. Bolinto (Project Staff, CRHRDC) discussed important reminders concerning the 8th Regional Research Conference. The overall activity was facilitated by Mr. Randy S. Occidental (Co-Chair, RUC).
